Cā;
NHOST is an experimental HOST-like program which uses the new HOSTS1 binary
file and the NETWRK package for processing this binary file. It does not
claim to have all the features of HOST.
To run it, type R NHOST. To the prompt (a sharp), give it any host name or
abbreviation, and it will print information about that host. It does not
accept any other form of input, neither does it print out more than one host
for an ambiguous specification (the name reader is intended for a TELNET or
FTP type program rather than a HOST).
The new format host table is documented in FORMAT.HT1[NET,MRC]. It contains
much more information than the old format table and is a binary file that
programs use at runtime, rather than being assembled in, hence when the
host table changes, all programs that use it change with it automatically.
